Please look again at the fixture list there have been some changes. U13 need to check back for their fixture date v. Herefordshire which may be in June instead of May and for the venue for their re-arranged fixture v. Wales.
Below is a copy of the match report submitted to the papers for Women's recent fixture v. Wales.
The re-formed Shropshire Women’s Cricket Team opened their season with a 50 over a side game against Wales at Oswestry Cricket Club on Monday 7th May.
Wales won the toss and elected to bat. After their 50 overs they were 253 for 7 with their main scorers A.Rees on 76 and C.Griffiths on 40. Shropshire wicket takers were Julie Dean 8-1-26-2, Louise Pugh 8-1-35-2, Megan Jones 8-0-48-2 and Charlotte Walsh 5-0-18-1.
When Shropshire batted, they were unable to cope for most of their innings with the accuracy of L.Parfitt and G.Davies. After loosing two quick wickets, a partnership of 52 between Vicky Bale and Evelyn Jones took Shropshire to 55 for 3. Once Bale (38) was out, Shropshire collapsed and were all out for 82. (L.Parfitt 6-2-10-4, C.Thomas 5-3-5-3, G.Davies 5-3-2-2)
We would like to thank Oswestry Cricket Club for the use of their ground and facilities. The Women’s next game is against Leicestershire on Saturday 30th June at Loughborough.
