Worfield Girls' "A" Team edge out Quatt Girls in thriller at Davenport Park

In a highly competitive game that was played in a good spirit, Worfield ran out winners by 10 runs.
Quatt set a target of 217 runs with their pairings of Rachel Chesters and Grace Barker finishing on 19 runs Megan Griffiths and Emily Derrer on 17 runs. Jordi Matthews taking 3 wickets in the last over, turning the game Worfield's way.(Marsha Evenett, 2 overs, 2 runs for 2 wickets; Lucy Arnold 2 overs, 2 runs for 2 wickets; Eleanor Rocket and Lucinda Oliver 1 over for 1 run and Amy Ruffell-Hazell, 1 over for 2 runs. Worfield gave away only 3 wides and 3 no balls). Worfield went into the last over tied with Quatt on 217 and without further loss of a wicket, Lucy Arnold and Grace Smith

Quatt 253 for 6 beat Worfield "B" Team who replied with 238 for 8.
Worfield were only 6 runs behind Quatt's total going into the last over, but Quatt (Jade Barker) took 2 wickets and with Worfield not adding to their score, Quatt won the game. Special note should be made of Marsha Evenett's and Ellie Rocket's net total of 20 runs.
In Quatt's innings Emily Derrer and Grace Barker scored 15 runs and Sarah Motteshead and Jade Barker scored 12 runs.
Bowling highlights for Quatt were Grace Barker 2 overs for 3 runs and 3 wickets, Jade Barker 2 overs, 10 runs for 2 wickets with Megan Griffiths, Aveni Johnson and Francis Birch all taking 1 wicket.

Team to play in the county final of the U15 Lady Taverner's U15 competition v Wem, at home, 6pm for 6.30 on Thursday 29th July

This game has the added interest of being a county final from which our girls may progress to the regional finals to be held next month. This game will be played with a hard ball, off 22 yards and is not a pairs game.
Teams to play Shifnal, away on Friday 30th July, 6pm for 6.30, please meet at Shifnal (U13 league game, pairs as usual)
